NOTD – Fairy Teal Sally Hansen & Revlon Radient

1 Fairy Teal Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure

Here is a swatch of the gorgeous Fairy Teal by Sally Hansen.  I absolutely adore the finish of Complete Salon Manicure nail varnishes.  It really does look like you’ve just been to get a manicure at the salon!

I then got the idea to add Radient by Revlon on as a top coat.  Glitter hasn’t made it onto my nails for a while, so why not.  Radient is one of my favourites from my collection, and as you can see, I’ve used it a couple of times.

Capturing glitters with my camera is pretty difficult. I promise I tried! So here is a blurry pic where I tried to get the sparkle across

Revlon Radient…and another which is marginally better 😛

Revlon Radient

When I first used Radient, I didn’t realise that I should put a base colour underneath, so ended up doing about four coats of it on, which needless to say created the biggest nightmare of all time when it came to taking it off! But Fairy Teal works so well with Radient that I only needed one coat.

As pretty as Fairy Teal is, I must warn you that the staining is pretty bad.  Blues and deep purples are notorious for staining but this is one of the worst I’ve encountered.  Such a shame because i love the colour.  I think it’s time for me to do some experiments to get the perfect base protection against stainers!

*Sits back and stares at nails* Glitter how I have missed you so!

    • Thanks for the tip! I’ve tried quite a few base coats, but not Essie’s. I’ll have to try it out because I love Fairy Teal but the staining is where my hesitation to use it again creeps in.
