Hey everyone! Hope the week’s been treating you well so far! 🙂
I decided to take a little detour from bright colours and opted for matte metallic nails. It started out as a bit of an experiment because the nail varnish that I used has a completely different purpose. I used 17 Magnetized Nail Polish (remember those?) the ones that you hold a magnet over to create a pattern on your nail.
When I bought it, I was late getting into the trend and needless to say, I never used it for its original purpose. Having duds, unused or ‘useless’ nail varnishes is something I like to avoid, and always try to find a way to make them work for me, so I revisited this varnish.
I think the metallic properties help make the formula a breeze to work with. Firstly, the coverage is pretty good! Opaque in one coat and relatively easy to apply – it’s a tad on the thick side so extra attention is needed around the cuticles, but it dries in an acceptable amount of time. It looked okay with a glossy finish but I wasn’t that into it, so out popped the Matte top coat.
The result being these wonderfully matte, gun metal nails. It slightly reminds me of China Glaze’s Stone Cold minus the shimmer. This is lighter in colour but it still conveys that lead/graphite look. It’s unlike anything I have in my stash and I would totally wear this again (you’ll see in the winter months lol) so I declare the experiment successful! 🙂
This is a fabulous look. I prefer the matte as well. It looks cute both ways, but I like how chic it looks matte. I also love the metallic- it’s nice to take a break from the super bright summer colors. Gorgeous!
It’s spooky we totally think the same way! 😀 ❤
Haha we totally do!
GENIUS!!!
Thank you!
These nails look really gorgeous. 😀
Thank you Lain! 🙂
I have one of the metallic polish as well ( by Pure Ice) and I really was not feeling all the work I had to put into it. But I did keep it as it is a nice metallic gold
Luckily they seem to make good nail varnishes on their own so it’s like you get dual usage 🙂
